How to Study the Bible

April 7 – May 12

This six-week Equipping Class will give participants a foundation for how to read and study the Bible utilizing reference tools such as concordances, Bible dictionaries, maps and commentaries. We will delve into the history of the Bible, learn why it is the inerrant word of God, and discover why it is important for followers of Jesus Christ to commit to the study and application of scripture. There is a $5 class material fee.

Cost: $5 for book and materials
Time: 10:00-11:00 a.m.

SHAPE Class

April 7 -14

River City Christian believes that God has blessed every member of the body of Christ with unique spiritual gifts, heart, abilities, personality, and experiences (your SHAPE). When understood and used correctly, your SHAPE will bring glory to Jesus and have an impact on the kingdom of God. And here’s an added blessing: when we grasp how God has wired us and determine to use our SHAPE to serve Him and others, we find great fulfillment and experience spiritual growth.

Gender, Sexuality, & Identity

Every child growing up in today’s culture is affected by gender ideology through classmates, relatives, school policies, social media, and entertainment. It can feel overwhelming for parents and grandparents who are seeking to guide children toward a biblical worldview. In this 4-week equipping class, you will learn how to navigate the cultural moment in which we live by considering biblical truths, research data, professional expertise offered by guest speakers, and relevant resources.

DATES: 4/7, 4/14, 4/21, and 4/28
TIME: 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
LOCATION: Chapel

4/7 – Worldviews on Sexuality, Identity and Gender

  • Comparing gender confusion with God’s purposeful design

4/14 – Counselors’ Panel Discussion: Addressing Relevant Questions

  • How do we address these topics with our kids?

4/21 – Public Policy and Parental Rights

  • What is happening in schools and in society and how can we respond?

4/28 – Panel Discussion with Q/A

  • What next steps can we take with our kids?
